Hard Disk Recovery
Our UK Hard disk recovery service can recover data from most types of damaged or unreadable Hard Drives. If you have an unreadable
hard disk or the disk drive is not recognised by the system Bios we may be able to help. Our data recovery service can access system areas and reload
corrupt firmware.
We can recover hard drive data following many different types of faults.
Some problems are the result of natural wear and tear but
may eventually result in a hard drive crash. Some problems
are specific to particular types of hard drive. Occasionally,
the data is damaged by a malicious virus attack. Environmental
conditions such as dust, magnetic fields, water, fire, smoke
and power surges can all have a detrimental effect on a hard
disk. In some instances damage to the hdd can result in numerous
bad sectors, is unrecognised by system BIOS or has become
unreadable due to corrupt system files, boot areas, partition
tables or firmware.
HDD data recovery failures tend to fall into three general categories:
- Electronic - Electronic failures can include things such as a controller board failure.
- Mechanical - Mechanical failure can be a head crash or some form of physical damage.
- Logic - Logic failure can be file structure damage.
On some occasions problems in one category can be related to problems in another category. Physical Damage such as bad sectors for
example can appear to be logic errors because of the damage to important file areas.
Unfortunately, hdd are also damaged accidentally by users.
Carelessness or inexperience can result in an accidental format.
The installation of new software may have unexpected results
when essential files are damaged or lost. Moving a Computer
while it is powered on is an easy way to cause extensive damage.
Laptops in particular are vulnerable to this type of damage
as they are frequently used as televisions. It is easy for
the owner to just move the computer so that it is easier to
view the screen. The jarring action of the move can cause
damage.
PC users experience these effects in different ways. The PC
may operate very slowly or not at all. The disk drive may
become very noisy or stop spinning completely. The computer
may issue a variety of error messages or be unable to read
files that have been damaged. In many cases the common factor
is that the hard disk or it's internal structures are damaged.
Our HDD Data Recovery Service can resolve many of the problems that require a hard drive repair. Below are the more common errors that require hard disk data recovery:
- System keeps booting repeatedly
- HDD not found
- Unable to access any programs or data
- Unable to boot
- Frequent crashes
- Partition errors
- Drive formatted in error
- Virus attack
- Corrupt data
- Device no longer available
- Damaged file structure
- CMOS problems
- Bad sectors
Physical damage is often recognised by unusual noises such as
clicking, whirring, screeching or even silence. Clicking occurs
as the HDD fails to find the 'Start point' and returns to
hit the retainer. It will continue to try and find the 'start
point' and then return to hit the retainer over and over,
this accounts for the repeated clicking. On other occasions
the drive may make whirring noises as it attempts to achieve
it's spin up speed but fails to do so and then retry's. These
types of problems along with damage from power surges, water
damage and Fire are usually more extreme and may require the
use of clean room facilities. Obviously, these types of disk
drive recovery are more difficult and often require parts
from identical models.
